More proof that looking great and singing ok is a ticket to Hollywood.

Singing God Bless the Child by Billie Holiday is pretty tough, but Simon was right that only “part” of Katherine McPhee’s audition was fantastic.  She did great on half of it. . but the other half was a bit strident.  The weird thing is that the good and bad halves were not linear at all.  It was like she weaves in and out of being wonderful and kind of awful.  Very strange. Randy clearly needs to clean his ears if he thinks that that she has the best voice by far in the competition.  Don’t get me wrong.  She’s good, but I’d say the judges were once again swayed by her great looks and winning personality.
