Ayla Brown Works Hard for the Money. . .

Wow.  Ayla Brown really is tall, isn’t she?  If she doesn’t make it on american idol, she’ll certainly have the option for modeling.  I’m getting a little gaydar from her, but that may just be me. . . and, well, it’s obviously beside the point. . anyway, let’s get to her performance. . . she chose to sing, “Reflection,” which is an incredibly difficult Christina Aguilera song. . So you have to give her credit for that. . Ayla had some difficulty on the low register and some of the high notes, just like Kellie Pickler. . . Simon had said in the audition that she was a little robotic but I think that is a bit extreme.  I get his point though. . she is very controlled, like she’s a little afraid of what might happen if she let’s loose.  She definitely needs more confidence in her voice, this would probably help her hit those notes.  Of course, letting loose also might make her miss more notes. . Can’t tell yet. She was very nervous, but I think getting through the performance will help her the next go around.  Randy said he didn’t expect much because it was such a difficult song, but he said he was pleasantly surprised.  Paula agreed and liked her expression.  Simon could see that she is a hard worker, probably owing to her athleticism.  He liked it though and felt she was less robotic. I agree.  She could be one of those in the show that grows a lot and quickly.  Let’s hope so.
