David Radford Takes on Elvis in a Shockingly Bad Song Choice

I feel bad saying that David Radford blew it on tonight’s first top 24 American Idol elimination show for the boys. . but I think he kind of did.  He tried to show a cooler side of himself and demonstrate that he’s “not just a crooner,” but he basically just crooned Elvis’ “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.”  His performance was . . .cute, and HE is certainly very cute and will undoubtedly endear himself to a lot of people, but it was just a little goofy. Randy thought it was pedestrian and high school.  Basically, terrible, no originality, not great.  Paula said the Kitty Pound or the Paula Poodle Pound loved him and she didn’t think it was horrible.  Not her favorite song choice but true to who he is. Simon was more balanced.  He thought it came across as a bit of a joke but that the audience at home would like him and advised him to take himself a bit more seriously. Again, I agree with Simon.  Damn, I hate that! All of that said, I almost cried when he was so clearly upset and dejected by the judges’ criticisms. . He is so sweet
