Kinnik Sky Doesn't Need American Idol

Kinnik Sky was very ambitious in her song choice of “Get Here” by Oleta Adams.  But all I can say is, “WOW!”  This woman doesn’t need American Idol.  She’s where Lisa Tucker will be in a few years.  I think her performance was a close to flawless as one can get on this show, particularly so early in the competition.   Amazing.  Simply amazing. Randy started off saying that she was rough and sharp but that he’d give it a 6.  The dog didn’t get it.  What? Paula said there may have been a few sharp notes, but so what.  Her performance was powerful and showmanship were on point and she did a lovely job. Simon said that the problem was not being sharp or not, but that it was cabaret and none of the judges were thinking “wow” and that she is being overshadowed by the younger contestants. Uhm.  I’ve got this thing on DVR so you can bet that I’m re-watching it over and over to see what I missed.  Maybe I just like the screaming black girls more than most, or maybe it was too adult a performance, but what gives.  She was amazing and that’s that!
