Mandisa Rocks to Heart's "Never" and Showed That Sister Can Rock Too!

Mandisa opened the first official top 24 elimination show on American Idol with a BANG!  Now, I have to qualify this with the fact that I love her already.  First, she’s beautiful and she’s got a really great voice.  She’s also got style and a great personality, so what’s not to like? The thing about singing a Heart song so well is that you have to remember that these are live performances.  It takes a serious talent to be able to pull off such a power song in a live setting.  Yeah, her performance wasn’t flawless, but it was awesome and it’s a taste of what she has in store as she grows over the course of the competition. Simon was correct that she threw down the gauntlet for the other girls and that we will most likely see her through to the top 12 finalists on American Idol. I also like that she changed her name to just one word – Mandisa.  Very smart marketing, my dear!  And, this is something that might come off as over-done or premature, but with Mandisa, like with Fantasia, it works. You go girl!
