Katharine McPhee Trusts The Voice Within

Katharine McPhee chose to take on Christina Aguilera’s “The Voice Within” on tonight’s American Idol. I’m always scared when one of the contestants does this. It is a recipe for disaster. Katharine pulled it off pretty well, especially considering how difficult the song is and how far she has progressed since the beginning of the season. It was a little rough around the edges but Katharine has turned out to be one of the sweethearts of the show. Randy started by saying that he is one of her biggest fans and that it was a tough but good song choice. He was a little unsure about singing Christina straight though without mixing it up or putting an original spin on it. Paula concurred but said that she wouldn’t have changed a thing and that Christina would feel honored by the performance. Simon said it was the best performance of the evening and that it was almost as good as Christina. At least he didn’t call it karaoke. Check out Katharine McPhee’s “The Voice Within”
