Kellie Pickler Goes Walkin' After Midnight

Kellie Pickler chose Patsy Cline’s “Walkin’ After Midnight” for Fifties Theme Night on American Idol. Is it possible that Barry Manilow had never heard of this song? I find that shockingly unbelievable. Before we get to the singing, I have to ask what the hell was up with Kellie’s make-up? She looked like she was walking after midnight looking for a $10 trick! Listen up American Idol make-up artists. . you fucked her up royally and you should be fired. She is not a prostitute. Now on to the singing. . . this was the best Kellie Pickler ever, proving once and for all that she is the anti-Carrie. I think Barry really helped her by focusing her on the reality of the song’s words because she definitely got it. She definitely was channeling Patsy and I think she would have been proud. The ending was over-the-top great! Randy thought it was a great song choice and welcomed back the country-pop girl. Paula thought she was a tigress rather than a minx and that it was a truly authentic performance. Simon said that she got it absolutely right. It was ballsy, sexy and just great. Yep. . .Kellie’s going all the way (and not in the way that the make-up artists would have you believe).
