Lisa Tucker chose to sing Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.” Now let me start by saying I am a huge fan of Lisa Tucker but this was not her night. I don’t think she was very comfortable with the song. I think that she was trying to step out of her comfort zone, so I have to give her credit for that. But, it seemed very manic to me. And, she was really rough in the middle. I don’t know. . it just didn’t suit her style. Randy thought it was rough and boring in the middle but that the end was hot. Paula thought she seemed nervous and that she didn’t take enough risks to personalize the song. Simon thought it was one of the best performances of the evening because she took control of the stage and that he loved it. . He also gave an indirect reference to her having the “X” or “It” factor. The thing you have to remember always about Simon is that what he says is very calculated. He sees that she has potential and wants to see her further along in the competition but recognized that her performance though directionally good was actually very weak and so he went easy on her. Basically, on people he doesn’t want to see go further, he comments on their actual performance. . but for people he wants to go far, he overlooks the actualy performance and talks about potential.
