Lisa Tucker decided to take on Kelly Clarkson’s “Because of You” on tonight’s American Idol. That’s a tough one because she and Kelly have such different voices and styles. I’ve never heard Kelly’s song (can you believe it?), but I can imagine that she does it very powerfully. I’ll be checking out iTunes after the show. I thought Lisa sang it pretty well. The crowd seemed to agree but you could tell it wasn’t hers. The song got away from her in a couple of places and it sounded like she was just screaming. That’s too bad because she’s got such a great voice. Randy said it was just ok and it was weird to do a mega-hit by a previous American Idol. Paula agreed that it was a tough song choice and advised that she needed to do something original with it so that there isn’t any comparison with the original. Simon said that the song was too big for her voice and there were parts of the performance that were painful. Having watched it back several times, it wasn’t as bad as the judges made it sound, especially when you look at the songs that came later from the other contestants.

She’s a Mix Of Teen Pop and Adult Music. Kelly Clarkson Has To Peform at The New York Collisom after This Summer. So I Could See Her.
