The latest buzz going around the internet is that Shakira will make a guest appearance on American Idol tonight. Let’s hope so! So this is an update after having seen and heard Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” for the first time on American Idol. It’s definitely not one of her best, but it’s pretty great all the same. All I can say is thank the gods that Shakira has learned english well enough to put her original style into her english version songs. That first english album was embarrassingly weak for her, but I can see that she’s back in full force regardless of what language she’s singing in. I also appreciated that American Idol could put something so edgey and multi-culti on the show in front of 30 million plus viewers. They got that right. Check out Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” video:
