Taylor Hicks chose to sing a song called “Trouble” on tonights American Idol. It was a great song for him. You could tell it was a song he identifies with. He had mentioned that he chose it hoping to show America his “range.” I don’t know what he meant by that, because I don’t think the song was very unique or different from his normal style and it didn’t have a big range in terms of octaves. . . Who knows? His performance was pure Taylor though, minus the goofy dance moves. I liked it, but I still don’t love it. He looked younger tonight though. Randy didn’t like it much, saying that it didn’t let him show off. Paula said it was nice to just listen to him sing a song without all the jumping around. She called him an old soul, which sadly I agree with. Simon liked the song and said it was an excellent vocal. Then, he said that his styling needed work because it was too Clay Aiken.
