Sway Penala chose to sing “Overjoyed” by Stevie Wonder. It seems like everyone on the show starts off a little rough but then later gets into the song. He had some trouble with whiny, off key early notes, but as he went through the song, he got into key. That said, I really just don’t care for his whiny voice. Sorry, Sway. . . you’re a good kid, and you sing ok, but you’re not doing it for me. Randy didn’t think it was as good as last week (uh, I guess we heard a different falsetto). Paula thought he was disconnected and not in the zone. Simon thought it was exactly how not to do well, calling it pure karaoke. . with zero originality, warning Sway that if he carries on like that he will not be in the finals. . . After this, I re-watched it, and it actually wasn’t as bad as we all thought. It just wasn’t one of the jump up and down performances that these guys need.

Sway just picked the wrong song just as K.Mcphee did and she was expected to do really well. Sway should just do his original songs. He doesn’t really need to be in AI to make it big.
Yeah. . I don’t know about Sway. . . I understand his group has a bit of a following in the Bay Area and some of their songs are definitely good, but I can’t really tell when Sway is singing as opposed to the other group members. If he has a good original song, he should definitely sing it. I think that’s allowed.
