Will Makar chose to sing Kennie Roger’s “Lady.” Going into it, I thought this was a brilliant song choice for him and would probably suit his voice pretty well, not to mention play to the ladies. By the way, don’t you think he looks like the kid from “Surface,” who incidentally is also adorable? I could have done without the Justin Guarini admiration though. Message to Will: Bad Role Model. So on with the performance. He started off strong – really clear. And, I thought to myself, “Self, this could be the moment.” Then he broke into the chorus and it was all over. He totally pulled it out. This was his absolutely perfect moment. Every young girl in the U.S. and certainly a fair number of the boys just fell in love with Will Makar. It was a flawless American Idol moment, one that will be remembered as a turning point for him and, possibly, the show this season. I’m still recovering as I type this. Freakin’ perfect. Now on to the judges. . Will they agree with the Idolfan? Randy wasn’t impressed. He thought it wasn’t BAM! enough. Paula thought his tone was beautiful and controlled but that it was too safe and bland. Simon likened it to an audition for Cats but said that Will has a target of 11 year old girls who would love the performance. I guess the Cats reference was that it was a hugely popular show but was completely banal. I guess Simon’s comment is most close to my thoughts. The judges just didn’t like it because you couldn’t dance to it and he didn’t do the screamy banshy thing. But they are fucked up on this one. He just solidified a fan base. . By the way, I guess Ryan agreed with me because he tried to take off Will’s shirt at the end. We’ll be seeing Will around for a while.

yeah, i just re-watched the show and still haven’t watched the elimination. . so I don’t know who was cut, but i think everyone but Simon got it wrong about Will. Listen up! 11 (and 12) year old girls make or break a contestant on this show, so there’s no doubt that Will is going further.

OK listen up. im freakn 15 and i love him to death. the first time i watched him sing “Lady” i balled my eyes out then i yelled at the TV (Simon) and i almost threw my popcorn bowl at the TV. I listen to him at least 2 times to get my day started. and i have not had a bad day!
That’s what I’m talking about, Knight! The judges didn’t get his performance, as they generally don’t if someone doesn’t scream the song.
