Ace Young chose to sing “I Wanna Cry” on American Idol country night. Kenny gave him a rave pre-review by saying that Ace combined with the song was the best combination of the American Idol bunch tonight. Let’s see. He started off sitting down and singing softly. I liked that he switched the outfit up a bit by wearing black. He was definitely pulling out the puppy dog eyes for the camera. And, he sang the song very well. I wish he would have stood up at least once during the performance and showed a little more emotion. This would have helped seal the deal, as it were. Evenstill, Ace still has the potential to rule, but I still feel like he’s holding back. Randy thought it was a tough song, a nice performance, but boring. Paula totally disagreed. She thought it was a perfect song for Ace and a nice take on it. Simon agreed that it was the right song and that he had a good night. Simon mentioned that he is “officially single.” Hmm. I wonder about this after much being made about him and the actress a few weeks back. Scandal! I’m sure it was said to help his vote count. Check out the video clip of Ace singing “I Wanna Cry:”
