Elliott Yamin Didn't Make Me Cry

Kenny Rogers advised Elliott to sing simply and try to make us cry. Elliott took his advice to heart but couldn’t help himself trying to make the song more interesting with the vibratto action. It was a nice performance, but he should have sung it even more simply in my view. I thought he was pretty good, and he is such a sweetheart, it doesn’t much matter how he sings. Randy thought it was hot and that he brought it down. I’m sorry, but this was a ridiculous statement in comparison to the earlier two performances. . . Elliott was no better than Mandisa and Taylor. . Paula gave him lots of credit for being a normal, sweet kid who stays true to who he is and keeps growing during the competition. . Simon thought it was a good song choice, not a great vocal, safe, and that he was hesitant and nervous. Simon said that it was the best so far but he’ll have to do better.
