I’m totally devastated that Mandisa was voted off American Idol! I saw it happening and just couldn’t believe my eyes and ears. I basically couldn’t write this until I got some perspective. Wasn’t it interesting the way Ryan lined them up in three separate groups to give the audience a very clear message of how the voting went? Taylor Hicks, Chris Daughtry and Kellie Pickler were in the top 3 and then they grouped Mandisa, Elliott Yamin, and Paris Bennett together in one group and then Bucky Covington, Katharine McPhee, and Ace Young in another. . . And, based on the whole season’s voting so far, it seemed like it had to be Bucky, Katharine and Ace in the bottom three, but then it flip-flopped!!! True, that Bucky, Katharine and Ace all had great nights, but that usually doesn’t matter! DAMN I HATE COUNTRY NIGHT! It really fucks everything up. But I guess the good thing is that it shows that the audience is listening to some extent and that unless you are in the top 3, who were predetermined from the beginning, anything could happen. So, back to Mandisa. . I really don’t know what I’m going to do for the next 9 weeks without the anticipation of what big black diva moves she will pull out on the show each week. She added a lot to the show and it definitely is less interesting now without her. Let’s see what she does next. Good luck, Mandisa! We’ll miss you!

I missed the whole Mandisa performance and subsequent boot and let me tell you….I am still devastated. So she can’t sing country…..soooo what ! She is not a country singer nor will she ever record a country album. Big deal ! She did not deserve to get voted off she was in all respects the best singer-performer and visually stunning contestant. I agree, ever since her first performance I was glued to see what will she do next.
I can only wish her the best and hope to hear from her very soon !
