Paris Bennett Dresses It Up on American Idol

Paris Bennett was stunningly beautiful on this week’s American Idol oldies show. Again, she put on a totally different image this week with slicked back hair, pink glittery eyeshadow and a stunning red skirt suit. She pulled it off quite nicely. She’s definitely something. Rod Stewart compared her to Billie Holiday and I definitely can see that. The clips of her with Rod Stewart made it seem like she’s now completely comfortable with her position in the show. She seems very confident. I am not a big oldies fan, though I do like the lounge music thing. But I have to say that she pulled off a flawless performance. It was so well controlled and personal and fun. She sounded incredible, jumping across octaves with the ease of a prof. And, no wonder that after the performance she seemed very happy with herself. She rocked. Randy said should stand there very proud because it was her greatest night ever and it “so the bomb, so great, every note in tune, . . . a classy, great performance.” Paula agreed and advised that this genre is hers and if she makes an album in this style it would “blow up,” meaning it would be very successful. You could tell that Simon was truly impressed. His commentary was totally without sarcasm. . saying that it was stylish and cool and terrific, commenting on the difference between her singing and speaking voices. “You talk like Minnie Mouse and yet you sing in that very grown up way. . it’s like there are two sides of you. It was terrific.” Yeah, Simon loves Paris Bennett!
