Taylor Hicks took on Queen’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” on tonight’s American Idol. It was 100% pure Taylor Hicks. And, by that. . I mean it was kind of fun, a little goofy, and more like a clown act in a second rate bar in Atlanta than a professional serious performance. I like Taylor generally, but like Chris Daughtry, he’s becoming a one-act horse. I’m getting a little bored with him jumping around the stage, dancing like my father, and generally being cheesey. He tried to be cool and kick down the microphone stand, but he missed a few times before getting it right. This kind of sums Taylor up these days. Randy and Paula loved it and welcomed back the “old” Taylor, saying that it was refreshing. Simon asked him if he was drunk and said it was ridiculous. I have to hand it to Simon for calling it for what it was.

Taylor Hicks has more internet searches than any current idol performer and is the most loved if not also the most talented. There’s nothing second rate about this guy. He is a performer as well as a great singer. If singing alone was the requirement to win then we all know Elliott would win. Unfortunately Elliott has no stage presence. Poor tortured-looking Chris. Seems the voters like Taylor jumping, jerking and otherwise bringing life to an otherwise boring year of Idol.
I guess america is pretty blind here. Paris by far beats any of the vocals on the show and what a performer! Taylor is a bit silly looking on stage , but none the less a good vocalist. So I have to totlally disagree with the previous coment.
