Taylor Hicks chose to sing “In The Ghetto” as his second song on American Idol tonight. Tommy gave him the thumbs up but advised Taylor to just sing it. Taylor complied and started off soft and singing while seated on the stage. It was nice to hear Taylor just sing and not jump around like a freak. He sounded great and took it way up in the middle of the song. It was nice. Randy said that it was the right key, the right song, and the type of record he should make. Paula agreed and added that it showed what a well-rounded artist he is. Simon agreed with Randy and said that he just sang his way into the semi-finals.
