Thank God for Burt Bachrach and Dionne Warwick

What is the world going to do when Burt Bachrach kicks it? It will be a sad, sad day. He should be in charge of song writing on this show, instead of whoever the LOSERS are that did Taylor and Katharine’s singles. I guess they can’t afford Burt? Whatever. Here’s a run down on each of the 12 finalists singing Burt. . Do they do him justice? Taylor Hicks – this is the kind of music Taylor should sing, instead of that “wish I were black” stuff Katharine McPhee – gorgeous. . . perfect for her Ace Young – he was the best he’s ever been Melissa McGhee – not really her brand of tunes, but she was sultry enough. . she needs to do Carly Simon Kellie Pickler – I hate her but she put a nice country spin on Dionne’s classic Bucky Covington – uh. . . it was nice for your middle school musical Mandisa – SHE IS A GODDESS. She and Burt should definitely do an album. Lisa Tucker – Mind blowing! She IS the next Dionne. Elliott Yamin – I actually liked him the best doing Burt. I’ll give him his props. Kevin Covais – Cute as a button! Chris Daughtry – Not his thing. . . Sorry, Chris. . you know you’re hot. Paris Bennett – Not quite up to Burt’s standards, I’d say. . Sorry girl. . not your thing. Then, HOLY HELL. . Dionne Warwick appears. . This show is really pulling out every stop! Now they will see a real master. . of course, Mandisa and Lisa Tucker can stand besider her head up high. Dionne is getting old but she is still a master. This was great musical television.
