Virginia American Idol contestant Elliott Yamin has an album deal It’s finally a reality, Elliott Yamin fans — Richmond’s biggest American Idol candidate has an album deal. Yamin has signed with independent Hickory Records and also inked a deal with RED Distribution, which will help promote the album along with Sony/ATV, with whom he has a publishing contract. Yamin, who came in third in last seasons competition, moved to Los Angeles several months ago and has frequently visited Atlanta and Nashville to work with songwriters for the album, due March 20. The first single, Movin On, is expected to be available at all online music providers by Feb. 13. This is an ideal situation that enables Elliott to have real creative and marketing input over the music that he produces, manager Jeff Rabhan said. The deal will also allow Yamin to participate as a meaningful partner in the albums financial success, according to Rabhan. Also on the 2007 itinerary — a solo tour this spring and summer.
