I don’t know what it is, but I really like Alaina Alexander. She’s one of those girls that you look at and think you should have hated in high school. . You know. . a “Heather” or someone from “Clueless,” but I bet she wasn’t like that at all. Maybe it’s her resemblance to Sarah Michelle Gellar that I love. . or perhaps the sincerity that she telegraphs. . . Anyway, I really want her to do well, but she doesn’t have as strong a voice as some of the others. So, with that she tried to take on Chrissy Hines. . She didn’t really pull it off completely. . It was a little too “big” for her, as the judges would say. Randy said it wasn’t great. . and that she didn’t really do anything with it. Paula said that she didn’t make it her own. . not taking it to the edge. . Simon thought it sucked badly, pointing out the irony that one refrain was “i’m special, so special,” adding that the song was anything but. He agreed that she’s not a bad singer and that the song was difficult to make your own but said that she was going to have to rely on her looks to get through.
