Blake Lewis Is a Contender on American Idol

I didn’t know the song that Blake Lewis chose to sing, so I don’t really have a reference point, but I really liked it. I think the judges, especially Simon, will say that it was boring, but I think it was pretty unique. It brought me back to my Cure, Morrissey, New Order days. He didn’t really hit the high notes quite right, but I don’t know. . I thought it was a nice song. Randy said he was shocked that he chose a Keen song but that he loved it. Paula said she was proud that he picked an odd song and that his vocals were right on and that he brings a contemporary, cool vibe. Simon thought it wasn’t the best vocal but that the difference between Black and everyone else is that he actually sounded like he could be in 2007. Simon thought he did the right thing to not pull out the beat box, adding that it was the best performance so far.
