Carrie Underwood American Idol Audition Redux

After seeing Haley Scarnato’s audition for American Idol this week and remembering that Carrie Underwood sang the same song in her audition, I thought it would be interesting to put her audition here also and we can do a compare and contrast. Well, I hate to say it but the Carrie Underwood rendition at audition time was far superior. Perhaps Randy and Simon’s lukewarm reception to Haley was in part due to a fond remembrance of Carrie Underwood. Also, just in case you don’t think of it, but notice how different the judges were in the auditions with Carrie than they are this year. Basically, they used to have time to actually talk to people. . now people must be pre-screened in some way, to ensure that they have a decent idea of who to engage during an audition and who to just feed through.
