I was impressed with Leslie Hunt. . She’s got a sexy raspy voice. . pretty unique for the competition. She looked great and her version of “Natural Woman” was pretty nice. She looked like she was having a blast. I think this song will work for the girl vote. It was a perfect choice and a great delivery. Yeah, she was pitchy here and there, but not a big deal. The audience loved it. Randy said he was hoping for greatness but that the song was a little too big for her. I guess he was right that it didn’t compare to Aretha and some of the others (hello! Carole King!!!!). Paula agreed as did Simon. Simon basically said that she was out of her comfort zone and that she looked “ungainly” performing. I think I get what he was trying to say. Basically that she looks a little surprised to be there. . but I liked that.

I’m not sure why, but I like Leslie. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be seeing much of Leslie in this competition. I think it would take a small miracle just for her to make the finals this season – not because she’s a bad singer, but because she never got enough air time to make the American fall in love with her and vote for her even when she doesn’t bring down the house.
