Jordin Sparks dedicated her performance of “Reflection” on American Idol this week to her younger brother. She got really torn up about it too. It was very sweet. She sang “Reflection” by Christina Aguilera. She looked great and she started very strong. She’s got a really powerful voice but she is still young. She missed most of the biggest notes but in general it was a great performance. When she was hitting the notes, it was clear and beautiful. She rules. She was crying afterwards because she knew that she missed some of the notes. Randy went easy on her and mentioned the pitchiness but that she is a great performer and given her relative lack of experience that it is unbelievable where she is right now, adding it wasn’t her best but it was really good. Paula said she was a good human being and that she was infectious, brilliant, talented and that she will come into her own and go very far in her career. Simon agreed with Randy, saying that it wasn’t her best but compared to some of the others it was excellent, adding that he thought the dedication got to her, adding that she is 17, with massive potential, a great personality, and an incredible singer.
