I feel badly for Haley Scarnato. She’s stunningly beautiful but she just isn’t that interesting when compared to her competition. She can sing ok, certainly better than Antonella, but she’s picking forgettable songs. I didn’t recognize her song, “If My Heart Had Wings,” and it was nice but it was pretty bubble-gum.
Randy hated it. He thought it was a weird song choice but that is who she is. He said it was ok but that it didn’t have any “Wow!” Paula agreed that she sang the song well and it fits for her but that it’s just not exciting. Simon said it was horrible and that it was like a terrible, ghastly high school performance, adding that he can’t remember her name and she just doesn’t make an impression. She took it pretty well saying that she clocks in and clocks out. . and comes in and does her job but leaves it at the door basically. At least she is standing for who she thinks she is.

I think America doesn’t know talent!!!!! Haley should have been the one voted off tonight not Sabrina. Simon was right about Haley
she wants to be a singer but doesn’t have the voice or passion. I was so outraged that America voted ? or is American Idol fixed?
Nope. I don’t think it’s fixed. . . I just think that there are so few white girls who are decent so she got in due to affirmative action. Likewise, Sabrina was one of 4 fabulous black women and so invariably the votes got split and someone had to go. It would have been her or Stephanie. . Having watched the show every season, there are always a couple of fantastic black women that get the boot for no other reason than demographics. . .Don’t get me wrong, i’m not suggesting racism. . It’s just that the callers identify with certain characteristics . . so this year, Haley benefited.
I agree with idolfan to some extent, but I also think that Haley got the sympathy vote from a lot of people because Simon is downright cruel to her. She might be cheesy and not very marketable, but she does have a nice voice, and Simon should have just said that she was cheesy and not that she was horrible, because she wasn’t. He certainly made me feel sorry for her, and I think lots of other people are voting for her because she’s getting a bad rap!
