Can Blake Lewis be any cooler? Probably not. . if he were, it would be way too much. . He started off his rendition of “Set Me Free” with a few snazzy dance moves and set it off to an electronic beat. It was a slightly strange performance because it was so different than what we expect to hear with this song. . He also didn’t sing exceptionally well through some parts of the song. . especially the falsetto part. But it was cool and I liked it. . Definitely original. Randy started with saying that he was a huge fan of Blake’s, but added that he didn’t need to Blakize every song and that he sings better than he did tonight. Paula agreed to a certain extent but said that he could have a hit with that arrangement of song. Simon said he didn’t get it at all, noting that he knew why Blake did what he did but that if it was heard on the radio without the performance you would turn the channel.
