Jordin Sparks finished off American Idol this week with a verison of Diana Ross’ “If We Hold On Together.” Jordin also said that she was going to take Diana’s advice to feel the song and project star quality with the performance. She started off singing seated on the floor and looking quite lovely. She offered a very controlled performance also. She has a great voice but I’m not sure I liked the song choice very much. . It was big and beautiful but it never took me anywhere. It’s the type of song that reminds me of Broadway or a Disney cartoon. . Randy said that he is impressed with her as a 17 year old and that with that performance she made it a 3 girl race. Paula reminded her that she has talent, is a breath of fresh air and that she draws the audience in. Simon said it was a little gooey (word) but added that it was a very good vocal and absolutely she had added herself to the list of contenders for the final 3.
