Lakisha Jones Has Something

I was waiting in heavy anticipation for Lakisha Jones to sing on American Idol this week. She pretty much consistently kicks ass, so I had big hopes.  After Ryan laid it on her (with a big hug) we got to find out that she is afraid of any and all animals. Hmmm. I don’t generally like people who don’t like animals.

She came out with straightened hair and a tight black dress singing Whitney’s “I Have Nothing” of all things. . This could be a mistake. She started off ok but she kicked it up pretty quickly and she hit all the notes like a pro. I remember previous years when others tried to pull of this song and they would go flat on the highest notes. She hit them all. It was good and sweet but not a huge performance.

Randy said it might not have been her best but that it was another great performance. Paula said that she was not going anywhere and that she was working on being the next American Idol. Simon said that she brought passion, talent, believability, Yo!, and that picking up on his comment from last week, that tonight she looked beautiful. I agree! Simon is so sweet to her. . I love it. He used to pick on the fat girls.
