Well, I’m still catching up with the Season Premiere of American Idol from last week.  So, I’m on night two when they go to Kansas City, hometown of David Cook, American Idol 2007.  Looks like it was a big party there.  But, on to the show.

Ashley Anderson’s audition on American Idol started off a little rough when she said “footsteps” instead of “footprints” in her Leona Lewis song, which by the way, was co-written by .  I was fully expecting her to crash and burn before she started.  And, even into the first few notes I still thought she might go off the rails.  Instead she was great.  She was very controlled and didn’t get flabbergasted by missing the lyric.  She was almost perfectly in pitch and that’s saying something given the wide range that the song spans.

Randy gave her an immediate pass to Hollywood.  Simon couldn’t help but send her through since it was his song.  Kara said that she had some chops.  Paula and Simon concurred. She’s got a great personality.  Good for her.
