Katrina Darrell's Audition on American Idol

What to make of Katrina Darrell?  You have to give her props for being audacious enough to show up in the skimpiest of bikinis for her audition.  Simon was somewhat giddy and gave her a “beautiful” midway through her performance.  Indeed, Katrina is beautiful.  You can’t deny that.  But the freaky thing was that she didn’t sing half bad.  Well, maybe she did sing half bad.  It was hard to tell because her lack of clothing was so distracting. Clearly other hot babes in prior years were sent through with far less talent, but this one was a toss up.

Simon gave her a clear and resounding yes.  Kara took offense and said, “Why?” in the most incredulous tone.  Randy said he thought she had a lot of potential and gave her a “yes” too.  Kara and Paula were flabbergasted.  You know it’s going to get bitchy when a woman starts off her critique with “Honestly, and this isn’t because you’re a beautiful girl. . .” but this is how Kara started as she ripped into her.  Kara said that she didn’t have any swing and that she didn’t “have the chops to sing that song” to which Katrina replied that Kara’s “demonstration” wasn’t any better.  Paula jumped up and said that was the wrong thing to say.  Kara jumped up, called Katrina a “bitch” and proceed to give her own rendition, which was of course a thousand times better but still came off as a little defensive.  Paula gave the tie breaking vote and sent her through to Hollywood.  Kara told her next time to come naked.  Kara admitted she had a nice ass, but then both she and Paula said that she was “terrible” after she left the room.

Meanwhile, Katrina was looking for Ryan because she had warned him that she was going to make out with him after she got her golden ticket.  Being the metrosexual that he is, he was nowhere to be found (wink, wink).  She tracked him down at the pool and gave him a very sexy kiss.  He really wasn’t into it.  I wonder why?
