Michael Sarver, a roughneck on an oil rig, chose to sing a Boys To Men song for his audition on American Idol.  I was pleasantly surprised by him.  He seemed like a really nice guy and he actually demonstrated a fair bit of soul.  I’m wasn’t that into the song but I could see that he has potential.

Paula and Kara were grooving a bit during the performance.  It wasn’t clear whether they were more into him or his singing ability, if you catch my drift.  Randy summed it up by saying that he didn’t sound like he looked like.  Kara described him as the “sensitive roughneck.”  They all sent him through.  Simon said he has the “like-ability thing.”

Randy called him “Jeremy” when he left.  I wasn’t very clear about that.
