Well, I guess it had to happen. Paula Abdul is so clearly being replaced by Kara DioGuardi on American Idol. I guess she’s got this season left as they try to transition Kara into Paula’s place. First off, it is way to freaky that they basically look exactly alike. Not to dismiss Kara’s accomplishments or worthiness to be an American Idol judge. I mean, what does it really take anyway?

Mike Darnell, President, Alternative Programming of FOX, added, “With Kara by her side, Paula finally has some back-up and now there is going to be a lot more ‘girl power’ on the show.”
Notice the last paragraph. I think there’s a bit too much heavy-handedness in that argument. . Now, certainly I would love the show to have more girl-power, but I think it’s pretty clear that Paula is on her way out. So sad. She had a good run but I guess all the drinks and meds didn’t really balance out.

I agree wholeheartedly. Kara is pretty dull so far. The row she had with the Katrina Darrell was the most exciting thing so far and it was actually a little scary. Kara is described as sassy but when she’s not being boring, she’s actually just being a bitch.
There is noone who loves Kara as much as Kara!!! She adds nothing “viable” (one of her words) to the show. I find her very annoying and arrogant. Seems to watch herself in the monitor more then she watches the contestants. PLEASE, someone make her go away.
Paula Abdul could NEVER be replaced. She brings a freshness and classiness to idol that really makes the show interesting. Without Paula, Ido would lose half it’s audience, the ones that think Idol is a kiddie come-on. She is the reason I started watching. I’ve been a fan of hers for years.
You all are crazy. Paula searches desparately for every word as though she doesn’t know what to say until she says it! Ask Simon. He can’t figure out what she’s saying either. Kara is super bright and an excellent addition to the panel.
