Thank You Whatever Comes–Best Song In Songwriter Contest
Tags:No tags

This is by far the best song in the songwriter contest. The vocal is beautiful, the lyrics uplifting, and the music itself is such that it will stand the test of time, which is a sign of a great pop song/ballad. I’ve liked lots of past idol contest songs, but this one has that something special that just moves you……when i hear the lyrics i can totally relate, and in many different ways. And most importantly, the lyrics totally fit & work perfectly with the show finale theme.

Rachael Wicker Audition on American Idol

Rachael Wicker chose to sing “Don’t Tell Me To Stop Loving You” for her audition on American Idol. Arm wrestling aside, I think she sounded great for a country singer. Simon cut her off and said that she sounded like she was singing like she was at the end of her career.

Randy gave her a yes. Simon said no. Paula was shit-faced and gave her an arm wrestle and compliment about her beautiful skin.

Jason Rich Audition on American Idol

Jason Rich may not be the best singer on the planet but he’s pretty damn visually hot. Poor guy was so nervous and so cute he kept forgetting the words. Finally, he pulled it off and showed that he has some great range and tone.

Randy said he’s got a pretty good voice but maybe he didn’t see any star quality. Simon agreed and said he’d give him another shot warning him that he won’t get another one.

Carly Smithson Audition on American Idol

Carly brought tears to my eyes after her successful audition on American Idol. Was it the accent? Was it the sweetness? I don’t know. Maybe I’m just feeling a little emotional right now. . .

Anyway, Carly chose to sing “I’m Every Woman” as her audition piece. Tough song choice. She’s got a great voice, there’s no doubt. She also added her own Carly-spice to it. It wasn’t flawless, but I thought it was damn good.

Simon said it wasn’t as good as her previous audition a couple of years earlier. This freaked her out. Randy said she can blow and Paula said that she is brilliant. Simon agreed to send her through. Afterward she was very emotional saying that she hopes that this is her year. We shall see.

David Archuleta Audition on American Idol

David Archuleta chose to sing “Waiting on the World to Change” for his audition on American Idol. What a sweet, adorable kid at 16 years. I think he sounded really great despite his little hiccup with forgetting the words. I wish Randy would not have started singing along though.

Randy said that he had a really great voice. Paula agreed, saying that he had a nice tone and is a sweetheart. Simon agreed with both Randy and Paula and said that it was a great song choice. Paula said that she wanted to squish him. I totally know what she means!
