So, I’m watching the American Idol finale in real time tonight. Let’s just say that I have no social life. We were treated to Carrie Underwood, and all the other Idol finalists dressed in white and singing something that is probably called “Through The Rain.” It was a nice song and everyone looked in good form. I can say that Melissa McGhee looked the hottest with her skin tight pants and midriff showing. I also could have seen a couple more closeups of Ace Young and Chris Daughtry in their skin tight white pants. . . but we’ll just leave it at that.

So, out comes Ryan to tease the judges and show some clips of the more idiosyncratic things they said over the season. Randy doing lots of dudes and dogpounds and bombs and hot ones tonight and wows. Then there was a lot of Paula being moved, crying and moving to the tune of Whitney’s “I Get So Emotional.” Then there was the Simon clip. Lots of egomaniacal stuff. . give myself a ten, fingers to the mouth and weird looks and playing with his own breasts. Pretty damn funny if you ask me.

Then, it was Becky and Jesse O’Donohue in Birmingham, Alabama with thousands of Taylorites, kids dying their hair grey, and grandmas on harmonicas. Next, to Tamyra Grey to Universal Studios with the Kat Pack.

But on with the show. We are told the entire top 12 will be back and first up was Paris Bennett singing a duet with Al Jareau. She looked and sounded better than ever. She even gave us a little scat, as many fans had been hoping she would pull out during the competition, but didn’t. It was a great performance.

More after the break. . .
