Paul Kim and Amy Krebs are the first to be eliminated on American Idol
So, I feel pretty out of it. . but I’ve managed to go through the weekend and now into the second week of eliminations on American Idol without having any clue as to who got ditched last week! I’ve been so wrapped up with my crazy busy life - new city, new job, finding a new apartment, etc. - that I haven’t been able to get my quota of American Idol.
Anyway, so now I’m watching the elimination show from last week. All the judges seemed to think that it’s about the girls this year and that if a guy wants it, they are all going to have to work hard. I guess I agree. . in comparison to the about half of the girls, the guys seem like amateurs.
So after profiling the best and the worst, the kids came out for the first group sing. . “Sewing The Tears Of Love” by Tears for Fears. It was pretty good as far as those group sings go. I have to watch it again, but I don’t think Gina Glocksen got a stand out. . .That’s a bad sign for her. . .
So on with the elimination of the first boy - Brandon, safe. . Sundance, safe. . . Chris Richardson, safe. . . Nick Pedro, safe . . Blake, safe. . . Paul Kim going home. . . Yep, probably the right decision. . Randy and Paula advised him that he has a great voice and that he needs to find the right songs that allow him to excel. Simon was not asked what he thought. I kind of wish they would let the kids sing a different song when they get eliminated. . I mean think about it. . if it sucked the worst and America voted them off as a result, why do we have to live through it again? He missed the falsetto again.
One down, three to go. . Fortunately, I have DVR and can buzz right through. . .
Now to eliminate the first girl . . Back row come on down. . . Who would it be. Definitely a white chick. Jordin, safe. . . Stephanie, safe. . . Sabrina, safe. . .Leslie, safe. . . Melinda Doolittle, safe. . . Oh, I’m dying. . . Antonella Barba has to go!! But wait, maybe they are just psyching her out because she was the last one standing. That was cold!! Ryan then called up Amy Krebs. . . Her song was sweet. . She did it better than the first time. . . good for her. Melinda Doolittle was crying real tears, as was Sanjaya Malakar. . god, i love both of them!
