SexyBlog | Find The Sexiest :: ā€˜American Idol’ Sex Scandal Goes into Full Throttle :: March :: 2007

ā€˜American Idol’ is supposed to be a fair competition, in which the judges get to have their say on the performances of the contestants, while the public has the final word on who

stays and who goes. Yet, somewhere down the line, some great injustice has been made and it asks to be corrected… after four years! Then again, if Oscar-winning Jennifer Hudson made it big in showbiz after she was booted from the competition, why shouldn’t Frenchie Davis do the same? Oh, excuse me, this is exactly what she’s doing right now!
Last week, I was telling you about Miss Antonella Barba who, obviously, has no right to still be on the show! At least, that’s what most people say but they’re probably talking out of their ass since it’s their votes that are keeping her on the show. Anyway, refraining from more personal opinions, I will say this: Antonella has a bunch of very racy photos out there, splashed all over the Internet and she’s still game for ā€˜Idol’. Another contestant, who did the same four years ago, when ā€˜Idol’ was only in its second season, was booted after a couple of weeks, despite her talent and great vocal abilities. One is white and slim, the other one is black and overweight. Where’s the fairness in that?

Those who are quick to jump to conclusions, should better hold on to their horses some more until we get the facts clear: Antonella has been kept on the show, even if the leaked photos are of a somewhat adult content (true, the hardcore ones are not of her). Even more, this has done nothing to decrease her popularity with the public, as the votes can show clearly. Of course, it didn’t help her become a better singer but that’s a totally different story…

And then we have Frenchie, who was a great singer, black and overweight. She was axed after the judges found out that, at 19, she had posed topless for some website. Now she’s pissed and she’s asking for the following: a formal apology for having her name dragged through the mud, a chance to go on the show again and to prove that she really could win it… or both, if possible. As in: please, pretty please! Miss Davis cries: if pornography is pornography, what’s up with the double standards? Something like: I have t**ts, she has t**ts (and I could go on some more, but better not), so why kick me off and not her?

Frenchie claims that she is still traumatized by the experience and that she was never quite able to continue her life after the ā€˜Idol’ episode. She says the judges are keeping Antonella on because she is white, attractive and slim built. Maybe. But Frenchie also forgets that: number one, the website she posed for was only for adults (meaning, hard porn) while Antonella was snapped by friends; she did it for money while Antonella for fun (and maybe out of sheer stupidity); most

girls that Frenchie posed with for the website were said to be underage, while Antonella did it with her friends, back when they thought private pictures will remain private.

Again, this is not an attempt to take sides because doing that would be just as futile as casting my predictions on who will win, say, season 9 of ā€˜Idol’. This is about presenting as large a picture as possible and for that, we have: Miss Davis - ā€˜I was upfront about those photographs and I had taken them five years before I was on Idol. It happened and I was honest about it…and weeks later they decided to kick me off the show. But if the rules have changed, I believe there should be something to make up for the fact that I was humiliated needlessly.’ and Fox, on the defensive - ā€˜Fox and the producers of ā€œAmerican Idolā€ have no desire to revisit history and sully the reputation of Ms. Davis. She was removed from the show over four years ago and has gone on to a successful performing career. We have never discussed the specifics of why Ms. Davis was eliminated, nor will we now.’

And there you have it! Franchie is gearing up for a fight with Fox and, while she’s at it, she’s also getting some extra help from H.O.P.E, the rights activist organization, who plans to sabotage the show by organizing anti-Antonella rallies. All we can say now is that this singing/talent competition is about to get more interesting… We’ll make sure to keep you posted. After all, who doesn’t like a good sex scandal every once in a while?
