Yesterday, we were telling you that Antonella Barba from ‘American Idol’ (you know, the less talented contestant with those really racy photos on the Internet) was in danger of being axed
from the show. Also, there was a positive side to her being eliminated: Joe Francis, the creator of the ‘Girls Gone Wild’ franchise and the founder of Mantra Films Inc. announced his intentions of making her the next face of GGW.
So, while many saw this coming for a long time (75 percent of the people who saw the photos and who heard her sing thought that she had no right to be on a singing competition), the news that she had been voted off ‘Idol’ still came as a surprise for Antonella. Last night, after she butchered yet another song, the wannabe starlet was left in tears by the never tender-hearted judges, who clearly told her she would most likely go home.
And that she did: Antonella Barba was voted as the next ‘Idol’ castoff but that doesn’t necessarily mean that she’s out of options. Just like it happened in Jennifer Hudson’s case, who came up seventh in the show in one of the previous seasons and then went on to become an Oscar-winning actress and universally acclaimed singer, Antonella too will get her second chance. So that no one can actually say that ‘American Idol’ is not a launching platform, even if you’re not a winner.
Another huge company took Joe Francis’ lead and made an offer to Miss Barba. Of course, she might have gotten the short end of the stick (when compared to Jennifer Hudson) but still, a second chance at fame and success is a second chance nonetheless. In other words, Antonella is being offered a career in porn. Oh, the shock! It’s like we didn’t even see this coming…
SugarDVD, the largest renter of adult movies online has already made an offer to the alleged singer: according to TMZ, the Sugar CEO has already contacted Antonella, offering her no less than $500,000. And she’s not even required to take her clothes off for this amount! All she has to do (if she takes them up on their offer, that is) is to be the company’s spokesperson, hosting gigs and such. Maybe, in time, if she does her job well, she will become a Star on her own, who knows…
Speaking with a reporter from TMZ, the Sugar CEO admitted that they welcome a bidding war because there is no way that they could possibly lose. ‘You saw her photos online, she’s smokin’. We will not lose because of money’, he said. One final word, though: neither will Antonella because, whichever will be her next step (light porn with ‘Girls Gone Wild’ or mainstream hardcore porn with Sugar), it is bound to make her a rich woman. Hail to the yes! Bring on the good stuff!
