Should Joanna Pacitti be kicked off American Idol

Well, there’s a lot of controversy brewing over since she has actually had a fairly broad career in entertainment prior to auditioning for American Idol.Joanna Pacitti

Apparently, she’s already put out an album on Geffen Records, though it didn’t sell well, and one of her songs has been covered by Britney Spears.  She’s sung on a few movie soundtracks, including Legally Blonde (I think) and also was signed by A&M Records, though that supposedly “ended badly.”

Do you think she’s too professional to compete on American Idol?  Let us know your thoughts.

Joanna Pacitti American Idol Audition Video

seems like a very nice and mature young woman.  She’s pretty easy on the eyes as well.  Kara recognized her as having been signed by A&M Records in the past.  Joanna just said that it didn’t work out.  She chose to sing a Pat Benatar song, “We Belong.  She started off very softly and I was a little worried for her, but then she kicked it up into high gear and had a surprisingly powerful voice for a little white girl.

Simon said yes immediately.  Paula said that she liked her, as did Kara.  Joanna started crying to hear it.  Randy said yes too.  Joanna was so excited.  It was really sweet.  It makes you wonder what the hell happened with A&M because she really wasn’t sure that she would sail through.  She must have taken a real hit to her self-esteem. Maybe I will have to dig something up on that. . There’s definitely a story there.

I guess the show was running out of time or steam, because they decided to merge a few of the successful auditions together in a video montage of sorts.  Enter John Twiford, Allison Iraheta, and Raquel Houghton.  Each of them were very good, at least for the 5 seconds each that we saw of them.

Simon and Kara's Sexual Tension on American Idol

It didn’t take very long into Season 8 of American Idol before the producers of the show started amping up the display of sexual tension between and .  During the San Francisco auditions show, there was so much footage of Kara and Simon going at it, so to speak.

These two were bickering with one of another as if they were some old married couple.  They were pushing each others buttons so much I felt like they should have gotten a room.  It’s a good thing that the show isn’t live (yet) because they’re bound to end up punching each other in the face just before they crash over the judges table and go at it like a troup of bonobo chimps!

Now, of course, it’s never that easy to tell what is real and what is staged on American Idol.  I tend to skew towards the view that everything is hyper-controlled and produced.  After all, that is what the show is all about.  But, perhaps there’s some truth behind their pecking. . .  Either way, it will be interesting to see where their love-hate relationship goes this season.

Sexy Adam Lambert Cabaret Videos

Given that I’m rapidly becoming obsessed with , I did some googling and of course I came across a plethora of videos of him doing various performances in and around LA.  This guy is really great.  Actually, he’s quite amazing and he’s obviously going to go to the top 12.  I’m actually willing to go out on a limb here and predict that he’ll be in the top 6 on American Idol this season.  Watch the two videos below, especially “I Make You Crazy,” and see for yourself.  This guy is hot and over the top!  All of his stage experience, combined with his huge talent and sweet disposition should carry him far.
